Why All Caps? 

Released in 2004 on Madvillainy the collaboration between MF DOOM and producer Madlib All Caps was never just a song about spelling. It was a declaration. Daniel Dumile spent years building the MF DOOM persona as a supervillain character, masked and deliberately outside the mainstream. Writing his name in all capitals was part of that identity a refusal to be treated like any other rapper, a demand for recognition entirely on his own terms.
Madvillainy was recorded in a converted 1950s bomb shelter in Los Angeles. Madlib built the beats on a Boss SP-303 sampler and a portable turntable. The result was one of the most critically respected albums in hip-hop history raw, unconventional, and made with zero compromise. All Caps became the defining track of that album and one of the most recognisable songs in underground hip-hop to this day.
